Honesty Box

In thinking about cyber-bullying, I remembered seeing an app once on Facebook called "honesty box," where people can anonymously post comments on their friends' walls. It seems to me that this is an invitation to be mean to someone else (and I honestly don't understand why anyone would use this app). Here is the Facebook home page:

There is actually a post on it about cyber-bullying, and it's interesting to read some peoples' reactions. Enjoy!

  1. WOW...I could not believe this comment on that facebook page in response to cyber bullying...

Alexander Veley: Bullying affects only the weak of heart. Find some damn self confidence for cryin out loud. I am no bully, indeed, I have actually been bullied quite a bit in the past. If your going to cry because someone decided to call you fat, well congratulations, you have officially pleased the bully by being displeased yourself. The ONLY thing I think ANY app should do ANYTHING about is threats. If someone gets depressed and commits suicide (extreme scenario, yes) because someone insulted them in their HONESTY box, then call me a heartless son of a b****, but they deserved their fate. If you cannot believe in yourself, you should not be using social networking anyway, also, you should not be a part of our society. This is a world of individuals. Some hate, some love. GET USED TO IT. Develop a sense of SELF-esteem and you may find bullying is no longer a viable issue.
